Spring is here! The flowers are blooming. The birds are chirping. New life is all around us. What a beautiful time to reflect on new life!
The most wonderful aspect of our celebration during this season is the resurrection of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. He saw us, loved us, came to us, and died for us. Three days later, Jesus rose with all power in His hand. The resurrection of Christ allows us to enjoy newness with Him! Because He lives, we have an eternal hope to one day live forever with Him.
I never tired of hearing this story. It inspires me to praise. It leads me to worship. It propels me to stand in awe at the beautiful work of redemption.
That is why this month’s Embrace the Word theme is Worthy is the Lamb. This month, our hearts will be refreshed with some familiar truths. Truths that are foundational to our faith. Truths that anchor our soul. We will look to Jesus again and fix our hearts on all He has done for us.
We will write faithful passages such as Isaiah’s prophecy of a Savior who would bear our sins:
But He was wounded for our transgression, He was bruised for our iniquities; The chastisement for our peace was upon him and by His stripes we are healed. Isaiah 53:5
We’ll also look at John the Baptizer’s proclamation:
The next day John saw Jesus coming toward him, and said, “Behold! The Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world! John 1:29-34
We will journey through Passion week through the account in the gospel of Mark. And we will be encouraged in the hope of John the Revelator’s heavenly vision, where heavenly hosts honor and praise the worthy Lamb of God:
Worthy is the Lamb who was slain to receive power and riches and wisdom, And strength and honor and glory and blessing!” Revelation 5:12
It’s all about Jesus this month. There is no worthier subject. Spring is beautiful, but there is no better place to set your gaze, than on our majestic Savior.
