I am so excited to greet you as we enter week two! I want to welcome all who are joining us for the first time and all those who have been with us for a long time. I treasure each of you!
Week one of our Embrace the Word Study on BOLD LOVE was full of self-reflection and introspection as we examined our own love walk through the lens of God’s Word.
1 Corinthians 13 beautifully captures the real love of God. This chapter emphasizes love as the greatest virtue and encompasses patience, kindness, humility, and selflessness. Love is not envious, boastful, or self-seeking; instead, it rejoices in truth and bears, believes, hopes, and endures all things. This is the selfless and sacrificial love exemplified by Jesus Christ, who demonstrated unparalleled love through his life, teachings, and ultimate sacrifice on the cross. 1 Corinthians 13 also highlights the fact that without love, even the most remarkable acts and gifts are rendered meaningless.
We ended the week by looking at Jesus’ command to love in John 13:34-35. We are called to mirror the love of Christ. We must genuinely love others! It is the cornerstone of our Christian faith and the most powerful expression of God’s nature.
In Week Two, we will dive deeper into Jesus’ command to love. It is worth studying more deeply as love is the essential characteristic of followers of Jesus.
How are you doing with your BOLD LOVE challenge? Don’t feel bad if you’ve missed a day or even if you have started. Just jump in and show love!
