Hello Sparrow’s Song Family!

Spring is here! Let’s walk into this new season with new joy, zeal, and intentionality, ready to serve the Lord and embrace all He has for us with BOLDness.

The flowers are springing up and the time of the singing of birds has come. Yes, spring is here. Song of Solomon 2:12 (TLB).

It’s the end of Week Three of our Embrace the Word study, Bold and Beautiful. Esther was our focus in Week Three. In this biblical story, we so clearly see God’s providence and a beautiful reversal of fortunes. Through Esther’s BOLD courage and obedience to fulfill her divine purpose, we witness a beautiful reversal of fortunes for the Jewish people. What seemed like impending doom transformed into a story of deliverance and triumph, illustrating God’s power to turn the tide in favor of His people. The enemy tried to destroy God’s people, but God was and always will be in control.

Here are some of my favorite takeaways from Esther’s story:

  • Courage and Faith: Esther showed bravery in approaching the king on behalf of her people despite the potential risk to her own life. He knew that God was with her. Joshua 1:9
  • Divine Providence: The story of Esther highlights God’s providential care and guidance. It reminds us that God works behind the scenes to fulfill His purposes and protect His people. Isaiah 46:9–10
  • Fasting and Prayer: Esther called her people to corporate fasting and prayer. Fasting and prayer underscores the importance of seeking God’s guidance, wisdom, and intervention through spiritual disciplines. Matthew 17:20-21
  • Celebration of Deliverance: The observance of Purim, a holiday established to commemorate the deliverance of the Jewish people, teaches us the significance of remembering and celebrating God’s faithfulness and protection. Psalm 103:2
  • Wisdom and Discernment: Esther’s wise and strategic approach serves as a reminder of the value of seeking God’s discernment and wisdom. James 1:5
  • Overcoming Fear: Esther’s transformation into a courageous queen illustrates the potential for individuals to bravely rise to the occasion when called upon to act. Psalm 34:4

Esther’s story powerfully reminds us that God is in control in all circumstances. We can find peace in His sovereignty, providence, and unwavering love, knowing that He will faithfully fulfill every promise He has made.

As we transition into Week Four tomorrow with a Bold and Beautiful focus on Mary, the mother of Jesus, we anticipate delving into the story of this obedient young girl who shows us the significance of wholeheartedly saying yes to God’s will and ways, paving the way for the fulfillment of His divine plan through her remarkable faith and submission.
