Embrace the Word-October 2022
It’s that time again! You already know that fall is my favorite time of year. I love the cooler weather, the colorful display of God’s glory in the trees, and the anticipation of the holiday season. I just love everything fall (except pumpkin spice)!
It’s also time for a new Embrace the Word! As I prayed about the direction for October, my heart was moved by all the needs I saw around me. There is a great need for God’s healing.
The scriptures are filled with promises from God for healing. Whether physical, emotional, or spiritual, God has promised to heal His people, and though it manifests in many different ways, healing is His best for us.
As we dive into this month’s theme, The Lord, Our Healer, I encourage you to meditate on God’s Word. Let it be written on your heart. Then speak His Words of truth from your own lips. Personalize each promise and make them your prayers.
This month, we will meditate on scriptures that speak of physical healing:
Is anyone among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the church, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord. And the prayer of faith will save the sick, and the Lord will raise him up. And if he has committed sins, he will be forgiven. James 5:14-15

emotional healing:
The Lord is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves such as have a contrite spirit. Psalm 34:18

And spiritual healing:
He bore our sins in His own body on the tree, that we, having died to sins, might live for righteousness—by whose stripes you were healed. 1 Peter 2:24
We will embrace beautiful truths like:
But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities; The chastisement for our peace was upon Him, and by His stripes we are healed. Isaiah 53:5
I acknowledge that everyone’s story is not the same. Many of us have prayed for loved ones who have passed on. But even if you may not have received the desired answer – God is still God. His love has not changed. His sovereign will is beyond our comprehension. Know that He does all things well and makes no mistakes. God still is a faithful Father and Healer. Let this month’s theme strengthen your faith again.
Join us as we Embrace the Word. Invite your family, friends, or your small group to join you. What a fantastic way to be accountable with your spiritual goals. Let the Word of God dwell in you richly (Col.3:15)! Embrace the Word, and allow the Word to embrace you.
Let’s be intentional about praying for one another this month. There are so many hurt people who need our prayers of faith. If that person is you, reach out! We will be faithful to talk to the Lord on your behalf. You can also join us in the Sparrow’s Song Facebook Group here or follow us on Instagram.
May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing so that by the power of the Holy Spirit, you may abound in hope. Romans 15:13
