I WILL Wednesday 11/6/19

I will give thanks to the Lord because of his righteousness;
I will sing the praises of the name of the Lord Most High. Psalm 7:17  Psalm 7:17

What a beautiful first I WILL Wednesday in November; I WILL give thanks! Thanksgiving should not be relegated to one month of the year. As the old song says, “Every day is a day of thanksgiving”. Many of us don’t have difficulty giving thanks in prosperous seasons, it’s other seasons we struggle with. In seasons of illness, depression or anxiety, it can be difficult to give thanks. When things don’t appear to be as they should, we tend not to default to thankfulness. There’s a way, however, to flip our mindset and attitude. Instead of complaining choose to give thanks.

King David made this declaration during a difficult time. He knew how to maintain a heart full of gratitude and praise. In this case, David chose to focus on the righteousness of God. I love how the Message version says it, “I’m thanking God, who makes things right.” Yes! I can maintain a posture of gratitude because I know that my God is righteous, He is a God of justice who will make things right. I trust that, despite what I see. That reminds me of the beautiful truth found in Romans 8:28, And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love Him, who have been called according to His purpose.

So in good times. . . I WILL give thanks.
In bad times . . .I WILL give thanks.
In happy times . . . I WILL give thanks.
In sad times . . .I WILL give thanks.

Our righteous God is in control and works for our good, so we can “Be thankful in all circumstances” because this is His will for us. 1 Thessalonian 5:18

So join me today and say I WILL give thanks!
