Standing on the Word 8/3/2020

Let the heavens rejoice, and let the earth be glad;And let them say among the nations, “The Lord reigns.”  1 Chronicles 16:31 

Though this verse is found in 1 Chronicles, is it a psalm of David.  In this psalm of thanksgiving, David acknowledges that both the heavens and the earth praise God. All of creation is witness to the majesty of our Creator.  David goes on to admonish the people to declare to all the nations, that the Lord reigns.  God is sovereign.  He is in control.  The beautiful thing about this is that God governs with dominion and authority, and at the same time rules with the tenderness that can only come from our loving Father.  This gives us reason to trust in the security that only comes from Him.  Even when things get hard, take refuge in the fact that the Lord reigns!
