Alive in Christ
I’m Alive in Christ Jesus!
I pray the celebration of the resurrection filled your heart with hope and reminded you of the overwhelming power available to you as a believer in Jesus Christ. I know Easter (I say Resurrection Day) was Sunday, but we should celebrate the resurrection every day. Because THE RESURRECTION OF JESUS CHANGES EVERYTHING.
We celebrate every day because the resurrection is a reminder of unfailing love.
For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. John 3:16
The resurrection is a reminder of amazing grace.
For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God. Ephesians 2:8
The resurrection is the reality of eternity.
Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who according to His abundant mercy has begotten us again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, to an inheritance incorruptible and undefiled and that does not fade away, reserved in heaven for you. 1 Peter 1:3-4
Today, right now, if you’ve accepted Jesus as Savior, the same power that raised Jesus from the dead lives is you! We are alive in Christ Jesus, and the Holy Spirit lives in us.
But if the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, He who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through His Spirit who dwells in you. Romans 8:11
This is a future promise; one day, our physical bodies will be resurrected, and we will live forever with Our Father in Heaven. But there is a NOW resurrection.
In the spiritual, we experienced death and burial with Christ. Then God gloriously raised us from that spiritual death just as He raised Christ from physical death. The Father did all this so we could walk in and experience spiritual life.
Paul wrote, “We were buried with Him through baptism into death that just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in the newness of life” (Romans 6:4). Because we are alive in Christ, we should walk in a new way. We can confidently walk out of the grave into a new life by the power of God!
We don’t have to cower in fear. We are alive in Christ!
We don’t have to bow to sin. We are alive in Christ!
We don’t have to conform to the systems of this world. We are alive in Christ!
We don’t have to be riddled with anxiety. We are alive in Christ!
We don’t have to yield to the power of addiction. We are alive in Christ!
We don’t have to fold to depression. We are alive in Christ!
We needed a resurrection because we could not rescue ourselves. We were once walking in darkness, lost without hope in this world, but “Thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ” (1 Corinthians 15:57). Through Jesus Christ, we have been made alive! The Spirit of God resurrects us despite our past. This is a free gift to us purchased with the precious blood of Jesus. This is grace, and it is amazing!
Let’s Talk
- Are you walking in the newness of life with Christ Jesus?
- What is your testimony of victory since you’ve given your life to Christ?
Let’s Pray
Father,
Thank you for sending Jesus to die for our sins. Thank You for Your power that raised Him to life again. I know that the same power that raised Jesus from the dead lives in me. Help me to walk in the newness of life. I am dead to sin’s power and influence. Thank you for the eternal hope I have in You!
In Jesus’ name,
Amen
