Hello, Sparrow’s Song Family,
It truly is the most wonderful time of the year. The time that we celebrate the birth of our beautiful Savior, Jesus.
The incarnation of Jesus changed the whole world. The holiday season is a great time to reflect on the impact of the advent of Jesus.
This month’s Embrace the Word theme is Jesus Brings Joy, Peace, Love, and Hope!
Jesus brings joy! We can rejoice because we have been freed from the penalty and consequence of sin (Romans 6:18). He gave His life so that we may have eternal life forever with the Father (John 11:25-26). What a great reason to be overjoyed.
Jesus brings peace! Because He gave His life, we now have peace with God, and we await the eternal peace we will experience when we live forever with Him in eternity. Jesus gave us His peace that guards our hearts and minds (John 14:27; Philippians 4:6-7).
Jesus brings love! God, our Father, loved us so much that He gave His Son (John 3:16). He demonstrated His love for us by dying for our sins while we were still in sin (Romans 5:8). Jesus showed us the greatest expression of love by laying down His life for us, His friends (John 15:13).
Jesus brings hope! In this life and eternity, we have hope in Jesus. Though we have to suffer, we have a living hope in Jesus who restores and refreshes our lives (1 Peter 1:3). This hope gives us the confidence to draw near to Him because we know that He who promised is faithful (Hebrews 10:22-23).
This season let’s reflect on the beautiful ways Jesus enriches our lives. As we Embrace the Word, may we be filled with joy, experience His peace, be changed by His love, and be firmly anchored in the unshakable hope that only comes through Jesus.
Oh, how I pray that you will continue to encounter Jesus through His Word! It is such a beautiful journey!
May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that by the power of the Holy Spirit, you may abound in hope. Romans 15:13
