We’ve been so blessed through the Word of God this month!
The Psalms show us why it is important to trust God. Our study showed how we can confidently rely on God’s timing, power, presence, love, and help. We discovered that bold trust empowers us to face life’s uncertainties with assurance, knowing that God is always with us and working for our good. The names of the Lord in Scripture reflect His character, and this month, we have learned that His character is completely trustworthy.
- Through Psalm 27 we see that we can trust God’s timing. God is not bound by time and space, as are we. He is in control of everything, and in His perfect sovereignty, we can trust that He is working on our behalf. He will never disappoint us, and He is never too late.
- Through Psalm 62 we see that we can trust God’s power. We don’t have to fret or fear because power belongs to God. He is omnipotent; He has all power! His power is unparalleled. He is not intimidated by anything or anyone. Neither should we be when we trust in His power!
- Through Psalm 91 we see that we can trust God’s presence. Psalm 91 shows us that when we abide under the shadow of the Almighty–when we stay close to Him—He provides protection and shelter that comes from His loving care. The Lord is Jehovah-Shammah (Ezekiel 48:35)—He is there! When we trust His presence, we will find the peace we need.
- Through Psalm 118 we see that we trust God’s steadfast love. His love is enduring. It will never run out; it will never fade or wane. His love never fails. We can trust in His love for us because He constantly demonstrates that love. We see His love all around us–at sunrise, as we take a breath, as He lovingly hears and answers our prayer–all these demonstrate His love. The most powerful demonstration of God’s love was seen when He sent Jesus, who showed His love by laying down His life for us. For God so loved the world that He gave….This is the kind of love that can be trusted.
- Through Psalm 146 we see that we can trust God’s Help. God is for us–He is on our side. We know He is for us because He did not spare His own Son, but delivered Him up for us. When God is for us, who can be against us (Romans 8:31-32)! We can trust in His power and willingness to help!
The Psalms beautifully illustrate the concept of bold trust in God. Through His perfect timing, unparalleled power, comforting presence, steadfast love, and unwavering help, we are reminded that God is a reliable source of strength and support. Embracing this bold trust allows us to navigate challenges confidently, knowing that we are never alone and that God’s intentions for us are always good. As we lean into His character, we will experience the grace to trust Him more and more.
