Hello friends!

Week one of our Embrace the Word study, Bold and Beautiful, has flown by! Diving into the story of Ruth and Naomi has been so refreshing. The Book of Ruth is packed with lessons and insights, offering guidance on redemption, faithfulness, generosity, resilience, family dynamics, God’s sovereignty, and personal identity. It continues to inspire and uplift readers with its timeless wisdom and profound storytelling.

As we end this week, here are some of my favorite takeaways:

  1. Devotion and Commitment: The story of Ruth and Naomi shows unwavering devotion and commitment. Even in the face of adversity, Ruth’s dedication to Naomi shows virtue and love. We should have the same kind of devotion to one another. Romans 12:10-13
  2. God’s Faithfulness and Provision: Through Ruth and Naomi’s journey, we witness God’s faithfulness and provision. Despite their challenges, God orchestrates events to bring about redemption and blessings. We can trust His sovereignty and faithful care over our lives. Isaiah 46:9-10
  3. Resilience and Hope: Ruth and Naomi’s resilience in the face of loss and hardship is a testament to the power of hope and perseverance. We can trust God’s plan and hope, even when circumstances don’t point to hope. Hebrews 10:23
  4. Transformation and Redemption: Ruth and Naomi’s story highlights transformation and redemption. From bitter to better, Naomi’s journey reflects the transformative work of God in restoring brokenness and bringing about new beginnings. Life may bring challenges, but we cannot allow seeds of bitterness to take root in our hearts. When we trust God with how we feel, He can heal brokenheartedness. Hebrew 12:15
  5. Generosity and Grace: Acts of generosity and grace, such as Boaz’s kindness towards Ruth and Naomi, demonstrate the power of compassion and generosity to bring blessings and restoration to others.
  6. It’s all about Jesus! Boaz is a shadow of Jesus! Jesus is our Redeemer! In Him, we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of His grace. Ephesians 1:7

The story of Ruth and Naomi is our story! When life leaves us empty and without hope, we can find hope in our redeemer, Jesus! He is the hope we need.
