Hello Friends,

As we start to dig out our thicker sweaters, boots, and heavier jackets, I hope we are also digging deep wells of gratitude. Gratitude is good for our bodies, souls, and spirits but does not always come naturally. It takes intentionality and practice to cultivate a life of thanksgiving.

When you set your mind on Jesus, you can more easily see the many blessings in your life. By focusing your heart on His goodness, you become aware of His presence and provision, experiencing His grace and love.

However, being thankful sometimes requires faith. When anxiety weighs heavy, darkness surrounds us, or our situations seem far from what God has promised, we must remember His faithfulness and expect His goodness. In Psalm 27, David expresses confidence in seeing the goodness of the Lord, even in his struggles.

“I would have lost heart, unless I had believed that I would see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living.” – Psalm 27:13

Like David, we can cling to faith during tough times. Paul encourages the believers in Philippi not to be anxious but to pray about everything, pouring out their needs to God while being thankful. This act of thanksgiving reflects our faith, recognizing what God has done and trusting in what He will do.

“Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God.” – Philippians 4:6

Giving thanks can be an act of faith. We show gratitude not only for what the Lord has already accomplished but also for what He will do in the future. So, let us praise God in advance for every blessing and answered prayer that is on its way!

This week, take time to thank God for His goodness, which has yet to be revealed. Express your gratitude by faith for every promise, prayer, and hope you have placed in Jesus. Rejoice in thanksgiving, for it will surely come to pass!
