Hello Sparrow’s Song Family,

I am so thrilled to welcome you to Week Two of our April study, Encounters with God: You Will Never Be the Same.

Last week, we journeyed through “The God of the Mountain & The Wilderness.” We stood with Moses at the burning bush, listened for the whisper with Elijah, and were emboldened with Gideon as he was commissioned. We learned that whether God meets us in the fire or in a still small voice, His presence is what transforms us! I pray your heart has been stirred by these holy ground moments.

This week, we are going even deeper. Our focus is: Visions, Voices, and Dreams. We are moving from the visible signs to the intimate ways God speaks directly to our souls. We will watch as Moses boldly asks to see God’s glory, hear the midnight call of young Samuel, and stand in the whirlwind with Job. We’ll see Solomon receive wisdom in a dream and witness the startling beauty of the heavenly throne room with Elijah. This week is about discernment, learning to recognize His voice and His vision even when the world around us is loud.

This week, we will also study the stunning account of Moses meeting with God on the mountain. This is not a vision or a dream, but an awe-inspiring encounter in which Moses saw the back of God. This all started with Moses’s request: “Show me your glory?” Exodus 33:18.

This reminds me of these words from Jeremiah:

Call to me and I will answer you, and will tell you great and hidden things that you have not known. Jeremiah 33:3

God, through Jeremiah, invites us to call to Him, to come into an encounter with Him. There, He will reveal “unsearchable things”; mysteries about His character and His plans for you that cannot be uncovered through human logic or knowledge. With the same audacious faith that Moses had, we should call to God, “Show me”

Whether He speaks through a dream in the night, a “still, small voice” in your spirit, or a vision of His majesty, His goal is always the same: to pull you closer to Him. As we study these encounters, ask yourself: “Am I positioned to hear? Am I truly seeking the glory of God?”

The same God who called Samuel in the dark and answered Job in the storm is inviting you into an encounter. Will you be bold enough to say, “Show me”

I can’t wait to see what “unsearchable things” He reveals to you this week.

Grace and Peace,
