Hi Family,

It is Week two of the Embrace the Word Study, “Matters of the Heart: What the Bible Says About the Heart.”

(Link to the FREE Devotional Guide at the end of this email)

Last week, we explored “heart problems!” As Jeremiah 17:9 tells us, our hearts are desperately wicked and incurably sick. But there is hope. God can fix our “heart problems!” He desires to clean our hearts and make us whole.

Hebrews 4:12 reminds us that God’s Word is alive and powerful. It has the ability to penetrate the deepest parts of our being, discerning our innermost thoughts and intentions. This verse challenges us to reflect on what lies within our hearts.

Are there thoughts or intentions that need to line up with God’s truth? Just as a surgeon uses a scalpel to heal, the Word of God exposes areas in our lives that require attention. It calls us to confront our hearts with honesty and openness, allowing God’s truth to take shape in us.

Take a moment to ask the Holy Spirit to reveal any areas in your heart that need healing. Allow His Word to speak to you today, guiding you toward a heart that reflects His character.

Last week, we focused on “Heart Problems.” This week, we will focus on “A Change of Heart.” We will look at how scripture tells us about the beautiful change God can make in our hearts if we yield to Him. We also start our character study this week (I have included a character study template and tip sheet)! Let’s jump in!
