Hello Family

I hope this message finds you all cozy and warm as we are in the heart of winter! With a frosty chill in the air, it’s an excellent opportunity to cozy up with the Word of God. Winter brings its own uniqueness. Though the trees may be bare right now, they are not dead; they are just dormant, awaiting a time to bloom again. This reminds me of how we need to view seasons of growth and preparation. Sometimes, things may seem dead, but they are actually just in a waiting season. It is important to hold on and endure those seasons because God is preparing you to bloom!

It is Week three of the Embrace the Word Study, “Matters of the Heart: What the Bible Says About the Heart.” Last week was all about experiencing a change of heart. One thing from last week’s devotional guide has stayed with me; having a heart transformed by trust.

(Link to the FREE Devotional Guide at the end of this email)

Proverbs 3:5-6 invites us to place our complete trust in the Lord. This call to trust is an invitation to complete transformation. When we trust God with all our hearts, we shift our reliance from our limited understanding to His infinite wisdom. This act of surrender changes the very core of who we are.

Trusting God can change our hearts. It allows us to release our fears, anxieties, and the need for control (ouch!). When we lean on Him instead of our own understanding, we open ourselves to more of His guidance and direction. Our hearts become less burdened by worry and more focused on God’s kingdom and eternal things.

When our hearts are truly transformed by trust, we will experience the sweet peace that the Lord promises. We will, indeed, acknowledge the Lord in all our ways, trusting His plan for our lives. And as He makes our paths straight, we will enjoy walking those paths because we know that we will be “daily walking close” to Him.

This week, we dive into our key scripture, Proverbs 4:23. We will also continue our character study of King Solomon. Solomon wrote the words we will study this week. We will take a look at his life to see if he applied the words he spoke. Better yet, will we apply them? Let’s jump in!
