Is there anything that keeps you from thinking clearly and praying fervently?
1 Peter 4:7 says, “The end of all things is at hand; therefore be serious and watchful in your prayers.”
The end and culmination of all things is at hand! Look carefully and you can see it. So what should be our response? Fear, panic, dread? No! We should pray! We should be “sober-minded and self-controlled“ so our prayers will be clear, reasonable, specific and strategic. We must stay alert so that we can pray in these end times.
Peter goes on to write, “And above all things have fervent love for one another, for “love will cover a multitude of sins.” We must be diligent to LOVE WELL!
We must keep on loving each other, just as Christ has loved us, through the power of the Holy Spirit. Why? Because love covers a multitude of sins.
It doesn’t make us doormats or pushovers, and it doesn’t mean we overlook wrong doings or injustice. Instead, when we let love cover, we won’t get caught up in unnecessary squabbles or strife, but in LOVE, we will overlook minor offenses, reason with one another aiming to make peace, and forgive! That’s right! Love doesn’t aim to expose, but to forgive! When we let love cover, it helps us keep our minds focused and sound so that we can pray deeply and fervently .
So as the end draws near and the church cries MARANATHA, let’s remember to LOVE WELL because love covers a multitude of sins.
1 Peter 4:8 Above all things have fervent love for one another, for “love will cover a multitude of sins.”
Here’s another LOVEWORKS sign! This one is special to me because It is my hometown and it is in front of an elementary school (not my school). The school is Armstrong School of the Arts. As you can see, each letter represents a form of artistic expression.
