Welcome to the new ETW study, Preparing Our Hearts This Christmas: 30 Days to Make Room for Jesus! This 30‑day devotional invites you into a journey of preparation, reflection, and wonder as we draw nearer to the Nativity. We will move from promise to praise, make room for worship, and carry God’s love into the season and beyond. We will use the Word of God as our guide to see how His promises unfold and how Christ’s presence changes our hearts and lives.

Making room for Jesus during the holiday season means reorienting our hearts, priorities, and actions toward what truly matters most. In a time often filled with busyness and distraction, intentionally creating space helps us remember God’s promises and the hope we have in Christ, bringing clarity and perspective to our celebrations. As we welcome His presence, our choices shift from frantic tasks and consumerism to compassion, rest, and meaningful worship; our gatherings become opportunities to share grace, and our rhythms gain peace. Making room for Jesus this season renews our joy, steadies our souls, and equips us to reflect His love to others in tangible ways.
And as we do everything around here, the Word of God will guide our efforts! We will dive into scriptures about the prophecies ofJesus, angelic announcements, songs of praise, and the Nativity account.
This month’s devotional guide pairs Scripture with a devotional reflection and simple prompts (Pause, Prayer, Praise, Practice) to help you clear space in your heart, home, and schedule for the true gift of Christmas—Jesus. We will focus on practical ways to prepare: listening for God’s voice, making room in busy schedules, and extending compassion to others.
