Preparing Our Hearts This Christmas: 31 Days to Make Room for Jesus!: Week 5

Hello family —

I hope you all have a great Christmas filled with wonder and joy. 

Thank you for joining me in Preparing Our Hearts This Christmas: 31 Days to Make Room for Jesus. It’s been a joy to walk through Scripture, reflection, and small practices together as we clear space for the Savior.

Over these days we’ve moved from prophecy and the Magnificat to the nativity and God’s gift of love, asking each day how we can make room in heart, home, and schedule. A verse that has guided us is Isaiah 9:6:

“For to us a Child is born, to us a Son is given; and the government shall be upon His shoulder…” (Isaiah 9:6).

This verse reminds us that Jesus’ coming is both tender and decisive: He is the promised Child and the sovereign Lord whose rule brings justice, wisdom, and peace. As you prepare your heart in these final days, let His truth shape your hope and your practice: receive the gift of Christ, and welcome the rule of the King into the ordinary routines of your life.

We have three days left in the devotional — let’s finish well by listening for God’s invitations and responding in simple acts of love and presence.

Looking ahead: I’d love for you to continue with our next Embrace the Word study in January — Running with Endurance. We’ll focus on cultivating spiritual stamina through Scripture, prayer, and other spiritual habits to build and sustain faith throughout the year.
