Hello all,

Summer is here! I thank God for the beauty of each season. Each one is unique in its own way, just like each season of life. I hope that you are present for each one. I hope you are really living and not just coasting through. You were called to live an abundant life in Christ.

We are in week four of this month’s theme, “The Word W.O.R.K.S. This week we have been focusing on Kingdom Success. Success is defined in many different ways. Many define success by how much you can have or how high you can go. I define Kingdom Success as living for God in the light of His goodness. This is “godliness with contentment” (1 Timothy 6:6). This is living in “righteousness, peace, and joy in the Holy Spirit.”

You will never have enough when you define success the world’s way. You will experience the constant dissatisfaction of never doing, having, or being enough. Dissatisfaction is a tool of the enemy. The enemy loves to keep you feeling inadequate, incomplete, and insufficient.

That is why we need to learn to trust God’s Word. Trusting the Word is part of experiencing Kingdom Success.

As a child, I fell in love with God’s Word. I loved Sunday School, Bible Study, and Vacation Bible School because I loved to learn about God. And what I learned, I believed. In the innocence of my youth, my faith was alive and active, grabbing hold to every promise and every precept.

As I got older, life snatched away at my innocence, and doubt and unbelief began to snatch away my faith. Trauma brought insecurity and shame until I believed God’s Words were true, just not true for me.

Then there were the unmet expectations, the unknowns, and the (seemingly) unanswered prayers. Doubt had become my default, and my faith had fallen.

Feel familiar?

My faith began to rise as I finally began to trust God’s Word. We can COMPLETELY trust the Word because of Who spoke them! God is entirely trustworthy. Therefore, we can take Him at His Word. We can make His Words our life and our lifeline.

As we grow in our relationship, we grow in trust. As we lean in to hear the heart of God, we become more familiar with a great love that heals and mends broken hearts (Psalm 147:3).

We come to know a Father who only wants good for us and Who works to that end (Romans 8:28).

 Isaiah 55:10-11

“For as the rain comes down, and the snow from heaven, and do not return there, but water the earth, and make it bring forth and bud, that it may give seed to the sower and bread to the eater, so shall My word be that goes forth from My mouth; It shall not return to Me void, But it shall accomplish what I please, and it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it.

We can trust God’s Word because when He declares something, it will come to pass. He sends His Word forth, and it accomplishes His purposes. When the powerful Word of God goes out, it does not return empty. The Word will do whatever God has commanded. And He stands watch over His Word until it is accomplished (Jeremiah 1:12).

The more we pursue God’s heart, the more we learn to trust His Word. Each day brings new challenges. On the days when doubt creeps in, combat it with God’s Word. To do that, you must spend time learning to grow in knowledge and understanding of the Word. Let your Father’s Words live in you! Let them inhabit every place in your heart.

Living each day in the light of God’s love, trusting His Word, and experiencing righteousness, peace, and joy through the Holy Spirit–that is Kingdom Success.

I am praying that You will have bold faith even in the face of doubt. Faith comes by hearing and hearing by the Word of God.

May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing so that by the power of the Holy Spirit, you may abound in hope. Romans 15:13

As I always say, the Word WORKS! We are walking in WHOLENESS, OBEDIENCE, RIGHTEOUSNESS, and KINGDOM SUCCESS through the Word of God!
