As we embark on the second week of the new year, it’s natural for the initial motivation of January 1st to begin to waver. I want to encourage each of you to remain steadfast, stay committed, and press onward with determination.
We are entering week two of the Embrace the Word study, Lord, Make Me Bold! Week one was all about the boldness we can have. Our boldness comes from a fruitful relationship with the Holy Spirit. Just as Peter and John relied on the Holy Spirit as they faced challenges and great opposition, the Holy Spirit gives us the ability to be BOLD for Jesus.
One of the passages we looked at last week is Acts 4:13.
Now when they saw the boldness of Peter and John, and perceived that they were uneducated and untrained men, they marveled. And they realized that they had been with Jesus.
These untrained, ordinary men walked in extraordinary boldness and confidence; why? They had been with Jesus.
It’s not about our background, education, status, or social connections. Our boldness comes from Jesus. In Him, we can embrace boldness and walk in the power of the Holy Spirit. Like Peter and John, we can draw strength from our relationship with Jesus to face challenges, share our beliefs, and make a meaningful impact in our spheres of influence. Let’s continue to pray, “Lord, make me bold!”
Next week, we will look at Bold Prayers! We can BOLDLY approach the throne of grace and find the help we need because of our compassionate High Priest, Jesus!
