Welcome to Week 3: Clothed in Christ & Walking in New Life! đź’›
Hi Family,
Welcome to Week 3 of Complete in Him: The Sufficiency of Christ in Colossians! I am so thrilled to be walking through God’s Word with you.
Week 2 was about guarding our minds against empty deceptions and resting in our spiritual completeness; Week 3 is where the rubber truly meets the road. Paul shifts seamlessly from deep, cosmic theology into the nitty-gritty of everyday life. The transition hinges on a single, glorious reality: because you were raised with Christ, your entire existence has shifted.
It’s easy to separate our “Bible time” from our everyday reactions when family tensions flare or daily stresses mount. But Paul reminds us that the gospel should rule every part of our lives. That includes everything from how we handle our emotions and speak to one another, down to the mundane tasks we tackle on a Tuesday afternoon. We aren’t relying on human willpower or self-help checklists; we are learning to strip off the grave-clothes of our old habits and walk out the vibrant new life we already have in Christ (we are complete in Him)!
As we journey through Days 15–21, we are unpacking:
- The Heavenly Posture:Â How to stop letting temporal anxieties drag us down and instead “seek and set” our minds on Kingdom priorities where Christ is seated.
- The Wardrobe Change: Ruthlessly putting to death fleshly anger, malice, and slander, and instead clothing ourselves in compassion, humility, and the ultimate binder of unity, agape love.
- The Peace Umpire: Learning how to let Christ’s supernatural peace act as the decisive controller in our relationships when offenses happen.
- The Colossians 3:17 Filter:Â Discover how to do absolutely everything- our work, our conversations, and our routines- under the authority and character of Jesus’ name, with a thankful heart.
Keep these anchoring truths close to your heart this week:
- Your life is hidden with Christ in God. (Colossians 3:3)
- You are clothed in compassion, kindness, and humility. (Colossians 3:12)
- The peace of Christ must act as the umpire in your heart. (Colossians 3:15)
- Whatever you do in word or deed, do it all in the name of Jesus. (Colossians 3:17)
Week 3 Reflection Prompt đź’›
Before we dive into Day 15, pause and take a quiet moment with the Lord. Ask yourself:
- Where in my daily routine—whether in my thought life, my speech, or a specific relationship—do I need to stop relying on my own effort and let the Holy Spirit’s transforming power take over?
Let’s step into this week ready to look more and more like our Savior!
