Write the Word-June 2021

| | |

Hello Sparrow’s Song family,

Welcome to a new month of Writing the Word of God!

Worship is a vitally important part of the life of a Christian. Many believers gather each Sunday to worship.  We lift our voices in song. We wave our hands and sway to the beat. We listen to the sermons and greet each other in fellowship. We can do all of these things and still not truly worship the Lord.

True worship is personal. It’s about your relationship with God. The time you take to spend with Him, the time you take to honor Him, taking every opportunity to serve Him with a spirit of gladness. Yes, you can worship God in fellowship, and through a song. But how are you serving Him? How does your worship serve God?  Paul the apostle wrote, “Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God—this is your true and proper worship.”  Because of all the Lord has done, our response should be a life that worships Him.

This month’s theme is “Worship the Lord.”  We will be writing passages that focus on worshiping the Lord. We were created to worship God in the beauty of holiness. This month we will write passages like:

You alone are the Lord. You made the heavens, even the highest heavens, and all their starry host, the earth and all that is on it, the seasand all that is in them. You give life to everything, and the multitudes of heaven worship you. Nehemiah 9:6

Oh come, let us worship and bow down; Let us kneel before the Lord our Maker. Psalm 95:6

Exalt the Lord our God, And worship at His footstool—He is holy. Psalm 99:5
