Review of NASB Adventure Bible

I had the pleasure of reviewing the NASB Adventure Bible. I received this Bible free for being a member of the Bible Gateway Blogger Grid, and it has been a joy exploring this treasure. Let me tell you, I love it. It is not only very cute and kid-friendly, but it is a great resource for the children who are learning to fall in love with God’s Word.

The cover is an adorable piece of artwork complete with drawings of Koalas, kangaroos, and other cute animals. But don’t let that fool you. This is a serious Bible with many features that engage young children.

The features in this Bible are amazing. They are age-appropriate, but don’t lose their value. In-text articles like, Did you Know? Words to Treasure, Live It, Life in the Bible Times, and People in Bible Times add to the Bible reading experience by providing additional educational content that helps students become more Bible literate.

Another feature this Bible offers is the book introductions. Before each book is a colorful introduction page that includes who, where, when, what, and whys of the book. The introduction also includes “What do we learn about God in this book?” information.  This will help see God’s presence throughout the entire Bible.

There is so much to love about the Bible. My favorite part has to be the extra pages that appear throughout the Bible. There are 20 different Bible themed, full-color pages that powerfully appeal to children with sound biblical concepts such as, How to Know You Are a Christian, How to Pray, Famous People of the Bible, and even a two-week reading plan about the life of Jesus!

Some other features include:

  • Full-color maps
  • Dictionary-concordance
  • Zondervan NASB Comfort Print typeface in 9.5 point print

I love this children’s Bible. I usually prefer the International Children’s Bible for kids, but this Bible includes so much that will help young Bible learners. The hardcover of this Bible doesn’t seem that durable, so I’d recommend a Bible case. Other than that, this is a great Bible for kids!
