Write the Word September 2020

Hello Sparrow’s Song Family,

This month’s Write the Word theme is spiritual authority.  As we all face challenges and trials, we need to understand that we don’t face them ill-equipped and alone. The truth is, many of the battles we face are spiritual battles that are fought and won in the spiritual realm. Since we have been given authority in Christ, it is essential that we understand the spiritual authority we have.

Jesus said, “Behold, I give you the authority to trample on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means hurt you” (Luke 10:19).

Jesus gave us authority over the enemy and every evil thing.  He fully attended for us to walk in it.  So when we wage war, we do so from a place of victory.  When we fight from a place of victory, we will never be defeated.

Paul prayed that we would understand the depth and breadth of our authority. When we understand and exercise that authority we can walk in power, overcoming the enemy’s assaults.  It is my hope that, through writing the Word, we will gain a better understanding of the authority we have in Christ. As we write, join me in prayer for one another that the eyes of [our] understanding being enlightened; “that [we] may know what is the hope of His calling, what are the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints, and what is the exceeding greatness of His power toward us who believe, according to the working of His mighty power”  (Ephesians 1:18-19).

In service to the KING,
