2023 Year in Review: November – Cultivating Thankfulness to God

November was another second for Sparrow’s Song Ministries. It was our second annual Thanks and Giving challenge. This scripture based gratitude challenge fit perfectly with our Embrace the Word theme Cultivating Thanksgiving to God.

On day seven of our challenge, we thanked God for who He created us to be. This is not self-centered or egocentric. It is believing God’s Word about us. His Word says we are fearfully and wonderfully made (Psalm 139:14).

Many individuals hold negative views of themselves, mistakenly thinking that self-deprecation commends them to God. This is far from true. We must have the right thinking when it comes to self. We should not think more highly of ourselves than we ought (Romans 12:3), but this doesn’t mean that you are nothing. God took great care in creating YOU! YOU are His beautiful creation, made in HIS IMAGE! Be grateful for who YOU are.

We must remember that our value and identity are not determined by societal standards or external validation. We are enough, just as we are, because we are His beloved children. It is through His grace and the power of Christ in us that we can overcome the world’s false narratives and embrace our true identity.

Remember, in 2024, your worth is not determined by the opinions of others or by worldly standards. Your worth is found in our relationship with Jesus Christ. Embrace this truth, confess it, and walk confidently in the knowledge that you are loved, cherished, and fearfully and wonderfully made by God. What a reason to thank God!
