A Year in Review: May 2022 – Waiting on the Lord
As we continue with our Year in Review, we’ve come to May, where we looked at Waiting on the Lord. Waiting can be long and hard, but through it all, God is faithful. For believers, waiting is not passive but an active process of trust and dependence on God. We discovered how waiting on the Lord can strengthen our hearts and bring us peace. We were encouraged to actively wait on our God and to trust that he is always moving and working for us.
We can wait for God’s answers:
Truly my soul silently waits for God; From Him comes my salvation. He only is my rock and my salvation; He is my defense; I shall not be greatly moved.
Psalm 62:1-2
We can wait in hope:
Our soul waits for the Lord; He is our help and our shield. For our heart shall rejoice in Him, because we have trusted in His holy name. Let Your mercy, O Lord, be upon us, Just as we hope in You. Psalm 33:20-22
And we now there is blessings in waiting:
Wait on the Lord; be of good courage, and He shall strengthen your heart;
Wait, I say, on the Lord! Psalm 27:14
Now we posture our hearts to await the return of our Savior:
Therefore be patient, brethren, until the coming of the Lord. See how the farmer waits for the precious fruit of the earth, waiting patiently for it until it receives the early and latter rain. You also be patient. Establish your hearts, for the coming of the Lord is at hand. James 5:7-8
If you are like me, you are going into 2023 still waiting on the Lord for some things. Remember to wait in confident expectation that God will do everything He promised!
