Anchored:Hope In God’s Promises Week 2
Hi Family,
We have officially moved into Week 2 of our study, and the “weather” in our text is shifting. Last week was about preparation; this week is about the reality of the storm. We are watching Paul move from a passenger to a leader as the winds pick up and the waves begin to crash.
To anchor our hearts as we head into these lessons, let’s look at
Lamentations 3:22–23: The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases; His mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.
When you are in a storm that lasts for “many days,” it’s easy to feel like you are being consumed by the waves. But this scripture reminds us that the only reason we are still standi
ng is because of God’s relentless love.
Notice that His compassions are new every morning. This means God meets you at the start of every single day with a fresh supply of what you need to survive. If you feel like your strength is gone, don’t worry—there is a fresh shipment of mercy waiting for you at sunrise.
As you go through the daily readings, I want to challenge you to identify the “Pivot Point” in your own life. Where do you need to stop looking at the wind and start looking at the One who stands beside you in the dark?
The storm might be loud, but God’s faithfulness is louder. Let’s keep leaning in together.
This week, we follow Paul from the deceptive calm of a “gentle breeze” into the heart of a hurricane where all human hope is lost. Through these lessons, we will learn how to pivot our focus from the visible chaos to the invisible, eternal promises of God that preserve us in the dark.
