Hello Family,

Welcome to Week 2 of our study—Built to Last: How The Word W.O.R.K.S. in 1 Peter!

Can you believe we are already moving into week two, family? I have been so incredibly blessed by your reflections, your prayers, and the way you all are leaning into the truth of God’s Word. If Week 1 was about laying the groundwork, Week 2 is where we start building upward, stone upon stone.

This week, Peter shifts from foundations into practice. He shows us the messy, daily reality of living in a broken world. He is moving us from knowing our identity to living it out in spaces that might not always feel safe, fair, or comfortable.

Peter doesn’t sugarcoat what we face when we choose to live differently than the culture around us. Instead, he hands us a manual for spiritual survival. This week, we are going to look closely at:

  • Christ, The Cornerstone: Understanding what it means that Jesus is our Chief Cornerstone, and how our entire lives must align with Him.
  • The Living Stones: Discovering that we aren’t loose rocks left to survive the storm alone; we are being built, together, into a secure, spiritual house.
  • Standing Firm in Unjustice: How to honor God and protect our personal dignity when facing inequality, toxic environments, or unfair authority figures.

Our Key Focus Verse for this week is:

As you come to him, a living stone rejected by men but in the sight of God chosen and precious, you yourselves like living stones are being built up as a spiritual house, to be a holy priesthood, to offer spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ. 1 Peter 2:4-5

Peter reminds us that we are living stones. On our own, a single stone can easily be knocked over or swept away. But God takes us, chips away our rough edges through the power of His Word, and interlocks us together. Being mismatched with the world simply means you are perfectly aligned with the Cornerstone!

As you read, write, and study this week, let’s keep running our daily readings through our Word W.O.R.K.S. lens:

Look closely at the text this week: Where is God restoring your Wholeness when the world rejects you? Where is He commanding radical Obedience in tough spaces? How is He refining your Righteousness under pressure, and how is He redefining true Kingdom Success as maintaining your character in the center of the fire?

Remember, a faith Built to Last isn’t built in isolation! You don’t have to study alone. Head over to our community spaces on Facebook or Instagram today. Check out the daily excerpt posts, drop a comment, and let us know what God is smoothing out in your life this week. I am reading your comments and praying over your requests daily!
