Embrace the Word ~ September 2023: Colossians Final Week / Complete Devotional Guide (free)

We have come to the end of our Embrace the Word Study, Colossians: Jesus is Enough. I have enjoyed studying through this book and sharing this time with you.

There are a few more days left to round off week four. The final days include scriptures from Ephesians and Hebrews.

In Ephesians chapter one, Paul describes our spiritual blessings in Christ. Ephesians 1:3-12 is one of the most comprehensive reminders in the Bible of who we are and our position in Jesus. In Christ, we have every spiritual blessing, and each one is a result of His great love for us.

Paul emphasizes spiritual blessings. This is not to say that God does not bless in other ways. Material blessings are good, but we cannot be consumed with things that rust, fade, or depreciate. In Christ, we have a glorious inheritance that is imperishable, is undefiled, is unfading, and is reserved in Heaven just for us. We may not ever be wealthy or have fame and popularity. Even without those things, we are abundantly blessed! From Calvary, grace poured down, lavishing us with so many blessings and so much love. We can’t help but celebrate our beautiful Savior because, in Him, we have all we need.

On the final day of our study, we explore Hebrews 10:12-14. The writer of Hebrews contrasts parts of the Old Covenant with the New Covenant we have in Christ. Specifically, the Old Testament system of sacrifice versus the New. Sacrifices in the Old Testament covered sins for a year but could not remove them. That system was only a shadow of what was to come.

Jesus’ sacrifice was a perfect and once-for-all. There is no need to repeat it. It is finished! Jesus, the sinless Lamb of God Who takes away the sins of the world, has sat down at the right hand of God, completing the work the Father gave Him to do.

Jesus! In whom is hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge.

Jesus! The head of the Church.

Jesus! The preeminent one!

Jesus! Our victorious King! He is enough!

Yes! Jesus is enough!
