It’s I WILL Wednesday!

I will sing to the Lord as long as I live; I will sing praise to my God while I have my being. Psalm 104:33

This is the season that everywhere we turn, you can hear Christmas carols and songs of praise in celebration of the birth of Christ. Songs like Joy to the World and Oh Come Let Us Adore Him can be heard on TV, in shopping malls, and just about anywhere.  It is a beautiful thing to hear these songs that celebrate who Christ is and how He came to earth to save us.

Songs of celebration should not be just restricted to this time of year, but should flow from our lips every chance we get.

David understood that God is worthy of consistent, heartfelt worship.  David understood that there was nothing he could do to repay the Lord for what He had done. In response, David promised to praise God for the rest of his days. We have a record of David’s songs of praise, worship and adoration.  Songs that ascribe worship to a worthy God. Songs that celebrate His goodness and His love.  Each song still rings true today that God is worthy of praise.

It was no task to sing to the Lord.  For David, it was a pleasure to bless God. It should be the same for us, for praise is fitting for the people of God!  We can share in the wonderful pleasure of praising and worshipping God.  He is so great and so mighty, but yet he chose to love us – chose to send His Son to die for us – and chose to adopt us as His own.

When we focus on God’s love, grace, and mercy, praise will be a natural response.  We will lift our hands, our hearts, and our voices to sing to the Lord.

As we enjoy singing praises to God during this wonderful season, vow to keep the songs going. As long as you live, sing of His love, sing of His wonders, and sing of His awesome power. When we consider all that He has done, it will truly be a song that never ends.

I will sing to the Lord as long as I live; I will sing praise to my God while I have my being. Psalm 104:33
