Proverbs: Wisdom for Today: Week 1
Hello Friends!
I want to extend a “warm” welcome to both old friends and newcomers! I’m not sure if it’s warm where you are, but not yet here!
I am thrilled to announce that in March, we will be studying Proverbs. Our Embrace the Word theme is Proverbs: Wisdom for Today. We will dive into this treasury of wisdom to gain insight, instruction, guidance, and understanding, all from the Word of God.
(Link to the FREE Devotional Guide at the end of this email)
This marks the first time we are repeating a study, and I’ve refreshed it with new insights and added Pause, Prayer, and Praise prompts to enhance your experience. The reason for revisiting this study is that I feel the need for a short pause to regroup and refresh, especially since I am a writing team of one (pray for me). While the devotional guide will be brief, there will still be a daily devotional entry to keep you engaged and inspired. And, as always, I admonish you to dig deeply in the Word yourself to uncover all the treasure with the pages of scripture.
Our key verse for this study is Proverbs 1:7: The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge; fools despise wisdom and instruction
This verse is foundational, reminding us that true wisdom starts with a reverent relationship with God. It sets the tone for our exploration of Proverbs, as it underscores the importance of seeking God’s wisdom as we navigate life.
If you’ve been with us for a while, you may have participated in this study. I invite you to dive in again. Proverbs is a biblical book you should read again and again. If you’re new, you’re in for a rewarding journey as we explore the timeless truths in Proverbs together.
I encourage you to read a chapter a day and focus on the key verses. This will allow us to dive deeper into the wisdom Proverbs has to offer and apply it to our lives.
As always, you can engage with this ETW study in many ways. You can:
- Follow the ETW “Proverb:Wisdom for Today” reading/writing plan. It includes 28 days of scripture related to the topic.
- Download the FREE Devotional Guide, which includes weekly teachings with daily Pause, Prayer, and Praise reflection prompts to guide you as you study God’s Word.

May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that by the power of the Holy Spirit, you may abound in hope. Romans 15:13
