Hello Family!

Welcome to Week Two of our ETW study, Psalm 107: Testify! Let the Redeemed of the Lord Say So! Week One was a full week of discovery as we explored wanderers in Scripture. We captured a glimpse of their stories and, more importantly, God’s rescue and deliverance in their lives.

When I think about testifying, I think of a story of victory that recounts the goodness of the Lord. There is no better story to recount than our own redemption stories. No matter what we all have gone through, we have this in common: “we have overcome by the blood of the Lamb and the word of our testimony!”

“And I heard a loud voice in heaven, saying, “Now the salvation and the power and the kingdom of our God and the authority of his Christ have come, for the accuser of our brothers has been thrown down, who accuses them day and night before our God. And they have conquered him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, for they loved not their lives even unto death.” Revelation 12:10-11

This powerful verse from Revelation captures the heart of spiritual victory. The “blood of the Lamb” refers to the sacrifice of Jesus Christ, whose death and resurrection defeated sin, death, and the enemy’s power. It is by His blood—His atoning sacrifice—that believers are redeemed and protected.

But notice what else the verse says. Victory also comes “by the word of their testimony.” Our testimony, the profession of what Jesus has done in our lives, is a critical weapon in spiritual warfare. Our stories are not just private accounts to be hidden but are powerful declarations that expose the enemy’s lies and encourage others in the faith.

In context, this verse speaks of believers standing firm against opposition and persecution, specifically from the accuser of the brethren, the devil. We are victorious not because of our own strength but through Christ’s sacrifice and the boldness to share our experiences of His saving grace. Our willingness to testify strengthens the Church, captures the attention of the lost, and brings glory to God.

Sharing our testimonies matters because it:

  • Reminds us and others of God’s deliverance.
  • Breaks down isolation by hearing common stories of struggle and grace.
  • Encourages those struggling to trust God to rescue them.
  • Declares the truth of the gospel in a personal, relatable way.

Today, reflect on your own story of redemption. How has Jesus rescued, healed, or changed you? Don’t keep it to yourself! Be bold and share your testimony. Your story, combined with the power of Jesus’ blood, is a mighty force that overcomes darkness and brings light to the world.

This week, we will look at the prisoners’ stories and how Jesus breaks the chains of darkness in our lives. Remember, Day 7 is a day to engage with the day’s scripture using the D.W.E.L.L. or other Bible Study method, catch-up day if necessary, or spend the day exploring other areas of study.
