Write the Word – September 2021

Hello, Sparrow’s Song Family!

It’s hard to believe that it is already September!

As I’m gearing up to meet my new little second graders, I am planning some fun “getting to know you” games for the first few weeks of school. It is so important to build relationships with my new students. Getting to know them is so much fun, as well as purposeful.

This is also a great time to get to know yourself. Sure you know your hair and eye color. You know your preferences and dislikes. You know your personality-all of the things that make you,  you. But who are you in Christ? Many struggle with their identity, but the Word of God tells us who we are. The truth of God’s Word can overcome the lies that attempt to keep us from knowing our worth, our value, and our purpose.

This month we will write scriptures like:

The Lord has appeared of old to me, saying: “Yes, I have loved you with an everlasting love; Therefore with lovingkindness, I have drawn you. Jeremiah 31:3

Therefore, having been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom also we have access by faith into this grace in which we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God. Romans 5:1-2

Therefore do not be ashamed of the testimony of our Lord, nor of me His prisoner, but share with me in the sufferings for the gospel according to the power of God,  who has saved us and called us with a holy calling, not according to our works, but according to His own purpose and grace which was given to us in Christ Jesus before time began, 2 Timothy 1:8-9

Even if you are very well versed in what the scriptures say about you, it is good to revisit these truths over and over again to allow them to become deeply rooted in your heart.

I would love for you to join us as we Write the Word. I would also love to hear from you. I would love to hear how God speaks to you during this month. Join the Sparrow’s Song Facebook Group here.

May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace,

Erica
